Notes Closer to Home… Spring has arrived—bringing warmer days and the start of calving. It’s one of my favorite times of year. There’s something special about seeing those first newborn calves—unsteady on their feet, full of life—and watching the quiet strength of a mother caring for her young. It’s a simple reminder of the care woven into God’s creation. Life outside is picking up pace now, with daily checks on cows and heifers, along with caring for the ponies. Our show pony for this year was delivered to the trainer at the end of February and is now in “school.” I’m looking forward to seeing how he progresses and where he finds his place in the performance divisions. With him away, it’s time to turn my attention to the younger ponies and begin their work. As the days grow longer and spring settles in, there’s plenty to be done—but also space for quiet evenings, road trips with the camera, and time with our youngest grandchildren as Easter approaches. Thank you for being here and for following along. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue growing this fine art journey and to share it with you. Warmly, Darcia |
