ECHOES OF THE PRAIRIE
Quiet Witness

Hello,

I’m excited to share that my newest gallery, Echoes of the Prairie, is now live. This collection will continue to grow over time as I explore places that hold quiet whispers of the past.

A selection of these images is now available as fine art framed prints on my website. Each piece is created to reflect the subtle stories these landscapes carry. You can view the gallery and explore the collection here: View Echoes of the Prairie Gallery

I’ll also be exhibiting a selection of my fine art work at the Western Art & Trade Show during the Old West Days & Nebraska Cowboy & Poetry Gathering in Valentine on April 24–25.

This event celebrates the heritage of the Sandhills with cowboy poets, musicians, and a variety of western art and cultural experiences. If you’d like to see the full schedule or reserve tickets, you can visit www.oldwestdays.net.

If you’re attending, I’d love for you to stop by and say hello at the Western Art & Trade Show.

A newborn angus calf staying 'hidden' in the bushes

Notes Closer to Home…

Spring has arrived—bringing warmer days and the start of calving. It’s one of my favorite times of year. There’s something special about seeing those first newborn calves—unsteady on their feet, full of life—and watching the quiet strength of a mother caring for her young. It’s a simple reminder of the care woven into God’s creation.

Life outside is picking up pace now, with daily checks on cows and heifers, along with caring for the ponies. Our show pony for this year was delivered to the trainer at the end of February and is now in “school.” I’m looking forward to seeing how he progresses and where he finds his place in the performance divisions.

With him away, it’s time to turn my attention to the younger ponies and begin their work.

As the days grow longer and spring settles in, there’s plenty to be done—but also space for quiet evenings, road trips with the camera, and time with our youngest grandchildren as Easter approaches.

Thank you for being here and for following along. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue growing this fine art journey and to share it with you.

Warmly,
Darcia
