A Walk Across the Pasture: My Artist Voice and the Legacy I Photograph

There’s an image I captured recently that speaks to the heart of what I do.

It shows my husband walking hand-in-hand with two of our grandchildren across a pasture in the late afternoon sun. Our dog tags along beside them. At first glance, it’s a simple, quiet moment. But to me, it represents everything I love about life in rural Nebraska—and the kind of stories I strive to tell through my work.

As a commercial photographer, I focus on helping agricultural producers, rural entrepreneurs, and small-town businesses tell their stories through meaningful, authentic images. I’m not a family photographer in the traditional sense—but I do document the legacy of families within their operations. When generations work side by side, there’s a story there. When a business is built on values passed down over time, I want to help show that to the world—and to the next generation.

My artist voice is rooted in rural rhythms. My images aim to honor the grit, grace, and purpose of life off the beaten path. More than anything, I want to create photographs that help businesses grow and legacies endure.
