Life has been busy this month.
Spring work, day-to-day responsibilities, the added upkeep that comes when the weather turns warmer and the grass and weeds begin to grow, along with quick trips spent celebrating milestones and events with the grandkids. The season moves quickly—both in the work that fills the days and in the passage of time itself.
But even in the busy seasons, there are moments that quietly remind us what matters.
Out here, stewardship is rarely announced. It’s simply lived through everyday actions—checking pastures, keeping routines, caring for the land and livestock, and spending time together while the work gets done.
And often, the best moments are the quiet ones.
No planning. No posing. No fake smiles.
Just life unfolding as it is.
A walk through the pasture = time spent together.
Chores = learning responsibility, companionship, and joy all wrapped into one.
The next generation spending time and learning in the same wide-open spaces that shaped us.
These are the moments I find myself cherishing and wanting to share.
